Tech Layoffs In 2026: Oracle, Amazon, Block, Meta — These Companies Have Cut Jobs Amid AI Impact

Tech company Oracle, which currently specialises in providing cloud computing infrastructure to companies that rely on AI, announced the biggest single-day lay of in the history of tech companies by cutting 30,000 jobs.

Amid the latest round of layoff announced by Oracle, where 30,000 jobs were cut from the company's workforce, NDTV Profit counts down all the major layoffs that have taken place in the tech industry so far in 2026. Prominent figures in the tech industry such as Oracle, Block, and Atlassian as well as e-marketplace companies such as E-bay cited AI as the primary reason for the layoffs with other major names like Meta, Dell, ASML Holdings and Spotify citing restructuring and streamlining its operations as the main reason for its layoffs. IT firms such as Meta and Amazon have also engaged in multiple rounds of layoffs in 2026. Spotify - 15 Employees The music streaming company let go of 15 employees from its podcasting division in order to streamline operations.
